Measure of Burn Rate

Burn rate is typically measured in the number of degrees of crankshaft rotation needed for the combustion process to take place.

The fastest burn rates achievable in a standard engine have been in the order of 22 to 24 degrees crank angle (CA) rotation.

However, the computer models of the Scuderi Engine have predicted burn rates approaching a blistering 10 degrees CA, fully two times faster than a conventional engine.
