The Scuderi Engine made its European debut today at the annual Engine Expo being held for the second year at the new Stuttgart Messe. Even with the backdrop of an automotive industry in unprecedented change, the halls were still filled with new technologies and engineers under more pressure to innovate.
After exhibiting at the last three events, the Scuderi Group arrived this year with the cutaway mode of the prototype and legions of European OEMs and media eager to see what many around the automotive engineering community have been talking about.
The day started with a brief "unveiling" ceremony that gave Scuderi Vice President of European Operations Lutz Deyerling the opportunity to speak to attendees who gathered at the start of the show. During his remarks, Lutz noted the progress the engine has made since first exhibiting in Germany three years ago when the engine was only a concept and in simulation. "It gives me great pleasure too finally introduce our first prototype," he said.

Soon after, Lutz and company President Sal Scuderi addressed the automotive media at a press luncheon. Sal took the journalists through the workings of the prototype, the company's history, and the schedule of development moving forward.

After adjourning the press luncheon, the media - as well as many attendees, partners, and OEM representatives - gathered back at the booth for further discussions of the engine and to talk more with members of the Scuderi team.
Day Two promises another busy day with meetings with local R&D engineers and more expo activities. Conveniently located adjacent to the hall's presentation stage, the Scuderi Group will have a front row seat for Engine Expo's main highlight: The International Engine of the Year Awards.
