Comment by 'Jeff Green' on Podcast: Advantages of the Air-Hybrid Design

If you aren't firing until 10 degrees into the downstroke, then this would be lowering the compression ratio somewhat at the point of firing.

Between 0 and 10 degrees is this when the fuel and air are inserted? It would seem to take some pretty high compression equipment to insert the fuel.

Is the fuel inserted into the cylinder at a pressure around 50 to 75 bar?

This engine is amazing! I actually work in the engine industry and until today have yet to hear about this. This is truly groundbreaking technology.

I have been following the new hybrid and electric trends the best I can. I cannot wait until we take the big turn with these innovative hybrids. It's really just crazy how the industry is acting as though the electric cars are a new idea that will help our pollution problem. The electric car came before the gas car. And now the engines are getting better than ever with the new technology. Hopefully it really hits the market hard and we can roll out new looks of hybrids that appeal to everyones tastes.

I must say again, what an incredible new engine. Great stuff Scuderi.

Do you need a starter battery? the car should be able to start off of compressed air. Add high pressure air tanks and refill them overnight. The compressor losses can be avoided for many miles. choose the tank size that matches your daily driving. The overnight heat of compression can be used to heat household hot water, or, for space heat. Why not use bleed compressed air to provide the air conditioning, doing away with the a/c compressor?

Who sells these engines, and is there a diesel version? ( yes I know the air chamber would have to be a substantial pressure vessel)

With the Air Hybrid, EMF safety is not a concern as in the Electric Hybrid Vehicles. This is more recognized as a problem in Countries other than the US, such as Sweadan.
